MrBeast is asking Survivor fans to keep an “open mind” about his upcoming cameo on the groundbreaking reality show’s 50th season.
The popular YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, was a guest on the Monday, April 6 episode of Rob Has a Podcast, where the conversation turned to his appearance on Survivor, which has yet to air.
“I can’t even talk about it. I can’t say anything. But you guys, just give it an honest try,” MrBeast told Survivor and The Traitors alum Rob Cesternino.
“I know — you’re not a fan of us cameos. You don’t like us. But trust me, ours isn’t just some silly cameo. You’ll like it,” he said, speaking to the camera. “Just come into it with an open mind, and give it a try.”
Although MrBeast was hesitant to go into detail because he was “under a lot of NDAs,” he promised, “It’s not about me.”
MrBeast previously responded to a social media post that said the March 17 episode of Survivor featuring country singer Zac Brown was the lowest-rated episode ever on IMDB. One reviewer on the website criticized that there was too much time “spent on a celebrity, and not enough on the survivors themselves,” while another said, “Zac Brown got more confessionals in this episode than some players have had the entire season so far.”
MrBeast replied to the X post, “Oh boy, hopefully they like my episode. What we did might be my favorite content I’ve ever filmed.”

MrBeast’s Survivor 50 cameo comes after Jeff Probst appeared on the second season of Amazon Prime’s Beast Games. On Rob Has a Podcast, MrBeast said he learned a lot from the Survivor host and showrunner.
“There were sometimes when contestants would be bickering, and there would be — I don’t know — almost silence. Or they’re just looking at each other,” MrBeast explained. “And I didn’t notice it, but sometimes he won’t even say anything. He’ll just look at them. And I was like, ‘Oh.’ Because when I was watching him host, I would be like, ‘What would I do in this instance?’ And I would — in my head I’m like, ‘Oh, I definitely would’ve stepped in.’ But in this instance, he’s just letting them play out. Even though it’s, like, very tense and very, like, borderline awkward.”
