Jeff Probst Heartbroken After Death of Brother Scott Probst

Jeff Probst and his family are mourning a devastating loss after news broke that his younger brother, Scott Probst, has passed away.

The heartbreaking announcement was shared publicly by Jeff’s brother Brent Probst, who posted an emotional tribute on social media confirming Scott’s death. “Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us,” Brent wrote. “He was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much. I’m so sad he is gone.”

At this time, no official cause of death has been publicly disclosed. Reports circulating online confirmed that the family has chosen to keep details surrounding Scott’s passing private for now.

Scott Probst was not only part of Jeff’s personal life, but also connected to the world of Survivor itself. Over the years, Scott worked behind the scenes on the show as an art assistant, camera assistant, and production crew member on multiple episodes between 2006 and 2012.

Fans across the Survivor community immediately flooded social media with condolences and emotional messages after hearing the news. Many viewers expressed heartbreak knowing Jeff is currently involved with ongoing Survivor production while dealing with another painful family tragedy.

The loss comes less than two years after the Probst family also mourned the death of Jeff’s mother, Barbara “Barb” Probst, who passed away in 2024 following a battle with dementia. Survivor previously honored her with a touching tribute card during Season 47, calling her “the biggest Survivor fan of all time.”

Longtime fans have praised the close bond within the Probst family, noting that several relatives have worked behind the scenes on Survivor over the years. Jeff himself has often spoken publicly about the importance of family and how deeply connected his loved ones are to the franchise.

As tributes continue pouring in from fans and members of the Survivor community, many are now sending support and prayers to Jeff Probst and his family during what appears to be one of the most difficult emotional periods of their lives.
