“I Betrayed My Wife!” — Travis Clark Begs Katie Bates for Forgiveness as Their Marriage Hangs by a Thread
Two months after Katie Bates’ husband Travis Clark admitted he had an affair, he shared how he was working to make things right between the couple, who share two children.
Travis Clark is determined to make amends with Katie Bates.
Two months after the Bringing Up Bates alum’s husband confirmed he had an extramarital affair, he shared an update on what he is doing to get his marriage and family life back on track.
“I’ve been sitting in what I did for a couple months now, and I feel so much inside but it’s hard to find the right words,” Travis wrote in an Instagram post March 3, alongside a photo displaying several pictures of himself, Katie and their kids Hailey, 2, and Harvey, 17 months. “At the end of last year I made decisions I deeply regret.”
On top of already expressing guilt, Travis—who tied the knot with Katie in 2021—emphasized, “I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself.”
And he’s doing his best to right his wrongs.
“The last couple months have been humbling,” he continued. “A lot of hard work, therapy, time with God…I know I’m not owed anything, but I am desperately fighting for my wife and my family every single day. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family.”
While previously confirming she supported her husband after he publicly addressed his affair on social media, Katie has been on her own healing journey.
“This year didn’t start how I thought it would,” the 25-year-old wrote in a Feb. 23 Instagram Story. “It’s been really heavy and emotional in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Some days I feel okay and steady. And other days it’s hard to even leave the house.”
To cope with the challenges currently facing her family, Katie—the 11th of Gil Bates and Kelly Bates‘ 19 children—recently embarked on a therapy intensive, and emphasized she’s taking things “one day at a time.”
